Celebrating our slow fashion ethos, Nora is an ode to the art of handmade. Beginning with four wood blocks intricately hand-carved to create two traditional jaal and buti floral designs, skilled artisans then use the blocks to slowly and carefully hand print delicate noir hues with a sweet magenta outline upon the softest cotton voile. Tiers of printed fabric have then been gracefully layered and finished with mother-of-pearl buttons from bodice to base, forming this free flowing feminine style lovingly hand-crafted by a small group of women in Jaipur, India.

*Please note due to this style's production process taking several months to create, each Nora maxi dress is completely unique and one-of-a-kind and is only available in extremely limited quantities.*

Material ~ 100% Cotton. This style features an underlining, covering the bodice to the base of the second last tier on the maxi length skirt.

Garment Care ~ We recommend a gentle, cold water hand wash using natural detergents, and hang drying in the shade. Handcrafted garments are delicate, however, designed to last when treated mindfully with love and care.

Nora maxi dress

This was my third purchase from Daughters of India. The Nora dress is so comfortable, the fabric is soft and cool to wear. The quality of the dresses are excellent and are my favourites to throw on when I'm off to the shops or the beach. I can also dress them up with some jewellery, a belt and sandals. These dresses are great to take away when you are travelling too as they are easy to wash and fast drying.

Absolutely stunning. It's lightweight and has a lining. Buying the largest size meant enough room for my chest, and it's the perfect length. I absolutely love it. I've worn it 9nce and got 3 compliments on it in that same day :) I highly recommend it.
